Dr. Ray Cox
Dr. Ray Cox graduated from Colorado State University in 1979. Ray then co-founded a veterinary hospital currently employs 12 full time veterinarians. Ray began doing laparoscopy approximately twenty years ago when rigid endoscopy was in its infancy. In the past four years he has been involved in a published pain study, "JAVMA 2003," co-developed several single port laparoscopic techniques, and taught laparo-scopy at universities around the country. Dr. Markee Kuschel
Dr. Markee Kuschel graduated from Colorado State University in 1990. Markee has been medical director as well as a partner at Deer Creek Animal Hospital. She has been integral in the development of laparoscopic assisted single port ovario-hysterectomy, single port gastropexy and single port crypt-orchid neuter surgical techniques. She travels widely in the United States and Canada, training veterinarians in private practices and universities to perform these surgeries. She is enthusiastic about the reduction in both pain and invasiveness provided by the single port technique. She and Dr. Cox utilize the laparoscopic approach in a significant proportion of eligible patients at their 12-doctor practice in suburban Denver. Dr. Jim Hailey
Dr. Jim Hailey graduated from Colorado State University in 1969. Jim then went on to build up several veterinary practices. Four years ago, Jim became involved in rigid endoscopy. Recognizing that this part of veterinary medi-
cine would evolve into an integral part of private practice, he took part in testing product modifications. Dr. Hailey was involved in the development of many of the single-port procedures used at this time. Dr. Hailey has traveled throughout North America teaching laparoscopic surgery in private practices and in universities.
